Lena Stevens - Full Moon Update - 8-18-16

Dear Friends,

Full Moon is Thursday, August 18 at 3:26 AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)

This is a good day for spontaneity, flexibility in your schedule, and being social with old friends or new ones. Do something different and say yes to some eccentric opportunity that may show up for you. If you have been working hard, take a break today. If you have been overly serious in your efforts to heal, balance, get your life on track and organize your work and your environment, take a break and focus on play for a change.

A full moon is always good time to honor and celebrate what you have achieved and what you have received and to focus on the fullness of life rather than any lack. Let go of any attachment you may have to the struggles of the past and your belief of how hard you have to work to accomplish good things in your life. It is time to dream a more expansive dream and to trust that spirit is always there to support you.

Blessings,

Lena

Aquarius Full Moon

Sun in Leo ~ Moon in Aquarius 26º

Thursday, August 18, 3:26 AM Mountain Daylight Time

(August 18, 9:26 AM Greenwich Mean Time)

Aquarius is our teacher to lift us beyond the personal, emotional realms and point us toward the farther reaches of consciousness. Aquarius helps us see a bigger picture, to value the freedom to experiment with all manner of behavior, expression, lifestyle and extend that experimental attitude forward to others believing all beings should enjoy the freedom and self governance to walk their own chosen path.

Aquarius is ruled by the very eccentric planet, Uranus, discovered late in the game, 1781, during highly revolutionary times. With the Full Moon here we can more easily detach from our personal responses and aim our sites to a more humanitarian and egalitarian point of view. The air signs give us mental objectivity and the ability to set goals for the long view. With strong detachment, Uranus is very instrumental in breaking up the old, status quo to make way for the new and modern ~ a necessary influence in a time of transition like we are now experiencing. As we slowly begin the Age of Aquarius, a 2000 year period, the shadow side of Aquarius is exposed ~ the fanatical, anarchistic and unpredictable side that destroys but without providing a more innovative or progressive solution to current issues.

Uranus in Aries 24º is in position to be a positive support to the Leo Sun and the Aquarius Moon. We can harness the energy of change and make it work for us with added clarity and strong witness. Intuitive flash comes easily under Uranian/Aquarian influences. Pay attention to your synchronicities and brilliant inventions. Practice thinking on the fly. It’s not so much thinking as intuitive inspiration and right timing. You have to trust that it will be there for you. Reform and innovation are strengths of Uranus/Aquarius, so ask yourself what part of your life needs some radical revamping? Or maybe you’re feeling a need to work with others for major social change – no sign is more given to serving the collective good to rebalance injustice and intolerance.

Some sources list this Full Moon as a lunar eclipse, but according to NASA, it’s too minuscule of a crossing of the earth and Moon to be considered an eclipse. No worries, we have a Virgo solar eclipse on September 1st and then a lunar eclipse on the Pisces Full Moon on September 16th – Harvest Moon. Eclipse windows give us the energy of reset as the light of the Sun or Moon are shadowed and allow our energy fields to realign to the now. Don’t underestimate the ability of your organism’s template to access and reorder itself to its original template.

Mars is active after Full Moon especially on August 24th as it comes into conjunction (10º Sagittarius) with Saturn and star Antares – very visible in the night sky. In ancient times this conjunction of Mars, Saturn, Antares carried connotations of conflict, belligerence, rage, so tread lightly here and watch the news to see what the collective manifests. Mars is moving on pretty swiftly by the end of the month but not before squaring Neptune and the Nodes along the way and delivering some impetus to move forward or fueling some underlying frustration and irritation.

Venus will be in her most practical and earthly manifestation as integrator of body, mind, and spirit when she meets Jupiter also in Virgo on August 27th. Watch for these two benevolent influences joined in the night sky in the west just after dusk. Jupiter is soon to leave Virgo on September 9th after a year in this sign. Spend these remaining weeks organizing, sorting, eliminating and taking stock, repairing and maintaining, and committing to healthy eating, good digestion and improvement of your mental and physical health. By the last weeks of August we have the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and North Node all in Virgo. Look to your gut level reactions as your guide and watch your tendencies for perfection that lead to judgment and criticism. Yes, we have a desire for improvement, but our critical voices have a way of separating rather than drawing us closer to love.

Mercury and Venus also conjoin briefly on Aug 28th just before Venus moves into Libra and just before Mercury begins its second, three-week retrograde period on August 30th at 29º Virgo extending its stay in Virgo until October 6th. Mercury will turn direct on September 21st just hours before the Autumnal Equinox on Sept 22. Mercury’s retrograde periods give us time to integrate all the shift and change we are feeling, allowing the body to catch up. It allows us to do some of our best non-linear, creative work and thinking.

We are building to the final closing square of Saturn and Neptune a period that has extended from November of last year until now. The pressure is on and will continue through the eclipses. It’s like finals week or deadline time or our annual review with the boss for our social political and spiritual score card. Yes, we have made some notable progress, but in some significant social arenas we are sorely lacking in direction and can definitely use some major adjustments in our collective ideals and priorities before this Saturn-Neptune cycle ends in 2020.

We continue to hold a background energy of the Grand Trine in water signs that supports us in the feminine realms of feeling, receptivity, and emotional responsiveness. We can access a feeling of gratitude, a knowledge of how to proceed in our personal lives, and a connection to a field of heart that buoys us and nourishes us in the emotional body. When you find this wavelength in your daily life, drink deeply and nourish your whole being.
