The New Moon is Saturday June 4, at 8:59 PM MDT.
This is a marker for choice. Look at all the choices you have, have made or are in the process of making and observe how and what you are choosing. Are you choosing from fear or are you choosing from a place of courage, confidence and certainty? Are your choices for you or are they compromised towards someone else? Are your choices made from a place of reaction or are you being proactive with your own desires and goals?
This new moon is an internal time to process personal issues so if you are around a lot of others make sure you take some individual time to honor the new moon and what it can support you with. The most important concept here is to keep a “don’t know mind” and to give spirit a lot of freedom to bring you solutions that are creative and unexpected. Continue to trust that it will all work out at the same time as putting positive energy into the outcomes you want.

New Moon in Gemini
Sun and Moon in Gemini ~ 15º

The last sign of spring is versatile Gemini. With New Moon in air signs all circuits are lit up! Communication channels are zinging, we’re all in motion traveling and zipping around, networks are forming and dissolving, and the mind wants to take center stage. Sun/Moon Gemini is in an extremely prominent position filling in the missing corner of the long standing T-Square formed by Jupiter opposite Neptune with ole Saturn squaring them both. That’s major tension right there. Now, the Sun/Moon have created a Grand Square by filling in the last corner. This New Moon cycle will have kick to it. All four corners of the square are in mutable signs so change, shift, transition are emphasized. Squares bring us a crisis/opportunity to clear out the pipes and invite in the new flow waiting to move through us. Those with planets at 10º-15º mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo) will feel the burn acutely.
Let’s break it down:
Saturn square Neptune-one of the most important and potent aspects shaping this year began last fall with the first square in November.
Saturn is giving us a major reality check. We passed Saturn’s third square to Jupiter in the past few weeks – now we head to the second square of Saturn to Neptune on June 17 (last one in September). Saturn wants us to show up, do the work, accept the limitations, challenges, or cosmic reprimands, and put into demolition anything that just isn’t working and is no longer in line with what we want to embody. Saturn is “Keeper of Time” so we are able to look at our life in retrospect and put our priorities in perspective giving a clearer view of our current needs and way forward. We’re getting ’matured’ by cosmic forces (Saturn and Neptune working together) and readied for the next five years.
Neptune moves veeeeery slooooowly and will retrograde on June 13 so is nearly at standstill and really powerful. Neptune can reveal where we are separate from Spirit creating despair, disillusionment, and disappointment, where we are lost in our personal (or collective) fog putting us to sleep to avoid emotional suffering, leading to denial of what’s true and also down the rabbit hole of addictive habitual behaviors (eating, projecting our anger, believing the media, complaining, self undoing….). Neptune’s placement way out there on the edge of the solar system also loosens the boundaries of reality and gives more access to Spirit and our real essence purpose in this lifetime.
Many young people are awake and coming from their hearts. Many Boomers, children of the 60’s, have walked the path of awakening for a lifetime – now Saturn is paying dividends to these in presence and expanded awareness. Neptune is also what’s putting so many ‘on the couch’ unable to move forward, in a fog, having to surrender to just being and accepting what is. With the strong Saturn influence combined with the retrograde influences, all we can do is take the next step. You may find Saturn square Neptune distorting your usual alignment with time and space.
There is tremendous potential for growth in these challenging aspects. Watch what is brought to your attention in your communications, family relationships, issues of control, resistance to change. Treat others with loving-kindness; you have no idea what they are going through. Gemini will keep us running, running, running, but find time to connect with nature, bigger power that can ground all the static electricity of the mind’s over thinking. Gemini shows up in the arms, hands, lungs and nervous system. One theme that Saturn/Neptune serves is help in eliminating deep negative programming of unworthiness, doubt in our connection to Source, and the dominance of the egoic mind over the heart. Watch like a hungry hawk what surfaces for you at this time. Stalk these threads in your psyche and put your full attention into collapsing their parasitic hold over you. The pressure of the Grand Square with Jupiter on the South Node and Neptune on the North Node is a grand impetuous for change. Channel your Neptune energy into service and artistic creativity.
The earth signs are helping us ground all this tense energy. Jupiter in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Taurus (ruling planet of this New Moon cycle) work together to bring us closer to Earth, nature, our bodies and senses as an antidote to the strong ambient tension. Call in your support, your allies, and humbly bring all you are capable of to the table. Contribute your gifts in creating something larger than yourself. No more holding your self small. Community helps us touch into joy, purposeful belonging, and remembering we are basically a tribal species. While we continue in holding pattern by Mars, Saturn, Pluto and soon-to-be Neptune in retrograde motion, revisit your plans, get organized and fine tuned, assess your resources, support healthy living habits.
Venus also in Gemini is so very close to the Sun and Moon, we cannot see her. We can feel her feminine influence in our desire for social connection and communication. Let your heart speak before your mind. Focus your thoughts on what is full of beauty and lean into art, music and creativity when doubt and tension seek to divide you into separation.
Please note: The next Full Moon is actually the second Full Moon in Sagittarius. It falls on the same day as the Summer Solstice about 12 hours apart increasing the strength of that powerful day when the Sun is at its most powerful in the Northern Hemisphere and most diminished in the Southern Hemisphere.
