Although millions of words have been written about love over
the ages, about the experience of love, about romantic love, about the
love of God and so on, love remains an illusive topic. No words will
ever capture it, explain it, communicate its actual impact, influence,
and experience. It is in a word impossible. Science tries to analyze the
biological sensations and phenomena of love but graphs, electrodes, and
mathematical models tell us little about the actual experience.
Nevertheless this article is another attempt to focus on it, even if
briefly. Love is so important, so critical to human survival that
without it, we are lost. We are rapidly approaching a time when the
human race will take such a quantum leap that if we don’t understand the
importance of love, we will enter into a horror so painful that no one
even considers contemplating it. The good news is that is quite
improbable and that is the good news.
What do we know about love? Science aside, the great avatars and spiritual teachers have told us enough to help. We know that love is magnetic in that it draws objects to itself. People that love each other are drawn to each other. When they are in others physical presence they sit close, hug, make love, or just hang out together. They revel in each other’s company. People who love a place desire to go there and will do almost anything to get there. People say they love their countries or their land and it is one of the few things that they will give their lives for. People who love certain aspects of life make it their interest like outdoor sports, hobbies, studies, and the like. They get close to it like bird watching, working with horses, or photographing flowers. So that is obvious. What most people do not know is that love is a magnetic force that draws particles together to form objects in the universe. The mere presence of planets and stars is evidence that love has drawn the particles together to form them. Without magnetism there would be nothing physical.
We know that without love people do not consider life worth living and that without love people, the other animals, and even plants cannot thrive but perish from negligence. Science has corroborated that and our own experience validates it. We also know that love is a particular frequency whose symptoms can be graphed and highlighted in scientific studies. Spiritual teachers tell us that love is a frequency throughout the universe, that it is all around us all the time, that there is no escape from it except in our imaginations.
Religion speaks of love as well, with phrases like “God loves us” and “God is love” and “God is everywhere so love must by definition be everywhere too.” Feeling loved by God makes people feel good and those who believe they are outside God’s love feel lost. The same goes for those who love themselves and those who do not. Loving self and others leads to happiness and the lack therefore leads to misery. Songs that speak of the misery of love are usually talking about obsession or lust that has little to do with real love.
So there you have it, what we know about love, but that is no substitute for the real thing. The real thing is what causes people to spend entire lifetimes seeking enlightenment and those that have brief glimpses of it have said that it rearranged their priorities forever. After an experience of total cosmic love nothing could ever substitute for it. That is all they ever wanted to experience again, sort of like a heroin high to use a poor example.
For a moment let us consider lack of love or what spiritual teachers say is the illusion of lack of love. If love draws us closer together then lack of love seems to pull us apart or create a sense of separation from ourselves, others, nature, and just about everything we can think of. When we operate from the illusion of absence of love there is fear and fear leads to suspicion, prejudice, alienation, judgment, reprisals, punishment, and attack. When we look at the world from this angle we can clearly see that it has led us to misery, suffering, and death. Human history is loaded with the consequences of this approach to life. We clearly have a choice to love or not, to attract or repel, to embrace or attack. This profound choice is what we face as we head for the massive changes that are upon us. Which route will we take? Down the road the consequences for choosing one or the other will be profound and as different as night and day. Seen this way why would anyone choose the same misery and suffering we have already seen so much of. Why would we not choose happiness? The answer is simple. Our worthy opponent, the false personality, the parasite as the shamans call it, wants it only one way. Separation and fear is the only way it knows how to stay in control. Essence on the other hand knows nothing less than love.
Now let us shift to the future. We know from many prophecies, Mayan, Tibetan, Hopi and others that a renaissance awaits us later this century (approx. 2070) and that first there will be a time of heavy tear down and reconstruction of our planetary civilization. Times are changing fast. Let us consider some of these changes and then look at what this transformation means with reference to love or lack thereof.
Let us start with the most influential and dramatic change of all; the shift in perception and values around the world. This is a dramatic shift in the values that dictate world behavior and dominate the world scene. We are moving from “I am king of the mountain”, “He who dies with the most toys wins”, and “I win-you lose” set of values to “We are in this together”, “I know how you feel”, and “I win-you win” perception. This is the long predicted shift from young soul to mature soul values and it is here now.
Now let us look at specific changes that accompany this paradigm shift. Let us start with our national and international identities. Majority-minority polarities are breaking down around the world as racial intermarriage and immigration are changing the face of what we look like and whom we think we are. Citizenship is blurring as more and more countries recognize multiple citizenship and efforts to keep people out through draconian immigration policies will completely come apart. Alliances between countries are no longer clear as countries change economic status, change policies, and the people who traditionally make up the population change in values. Strict boundaries between countries will become a thing of the past. Mobility is increasing across the board for tourism, consulting, and cultural exchange and eventually who is a citizen and who is not will go away. Tomorrow billions of people will travel as compared with the many millions of today. With travel comes education, tolerance, more understanding of differences and compassion.
The means of travel will change as billions of people are transported by 1000 mile an hour vacuum tubes to every part of the planet. The clumsiness and expense of todays jet travel will be replaced by smooth efficient, and mostly below and on the ground tubes. These will run completely by solar power and non-traditional power sources. Get ready!
The world economy is already transforming itself in ways that make the old economic paradigm unrecognizable and untenable. With the advent of mechanization, robotics, consolidation, and too big to fail industries we are seeing an end to full time work for the masses. Many more people will not find employment in the future and those that do will be working under conditions dramatically different from prior times. They will be sharing jobs, workspace, machines, and job titles. Values are shifting swiftly to sustainability, social purpose, meaningful participation, and the integration of work life with personal life. Retirement plans, cradle to grave security, and permanent careers are going the way of the dinosaur. Few stay at the same job for more than a few years now and fewer less will do so in the future. In the future most people will be independents, working for themselves, contracting, and loaning themselves for remuneration.
Connectivity through social media and the world-wide web is already completely changing the game plan both for business and for entrepreneurial efforts. Anyone can now raise money through the internet for their personal projects and plans. NGO’s, non-profits of all stripes, and micro-loaning, are rivaling government structures for how things get done. Self-reliance and individual initiative are the new watchwords for survivability in the world. Creativity is now in everyone’s hands and allows for rapid change of traditional structures that were unrivaled before.
Social media will allow for massive participation in determining a government’s policies and direction. Political structures are falling apart to be replaced by direct voting and public suggestions about how to solve problems. This is already taking place in selected locations around the world. Tiny minorities and despots will no longer be able to control policies in resistance to what the masses want. Marijuana laws and gay freedom are cases in point. They are the tip of the iceberg for what is to come.
The demise of the written word to simple visual representation allows almost anyone to learn massive amounts through social media and become fully educated in the areas of their interest. Traditional education is going away. Verbal commands will quickly replace typing as the way to interface with new technology, robots that will continue to miniaturize and be interfacing with all aspects of the environment.
It is only a matter of time before energy will become cheap, localized, and environmentally sustainable, available to people living almost anywhere on the planet. People will live in cities for social reasons but not because they have to.
AI or artificial intelligence is in its infancy now but will rapidly proliferate as machines become sophisticated enough to create new more advance machines and so on. Sound scary? Get ready. It will happen. Drones, robots, and bioengineered devices are advancing as we speak and in a short time web will be able to be mass-produced through printers that make todays 3D printers look like buggy whips. Intelligent machines are already here and will advance at a breakneck pace. It will no longer be clear what is human and what is robotic, what is natural and what is artificial, as components of each are combined in ever more creative ways. Who will control these devices and how?
Biological and medical breakthroughs will continue to push back old age and disease will become less of a threat as we discover new ways to defend against it. Will there be new diseases perhaps created in labs or emerging out of our experiments? Most likely. We just don’t know the consequences of our actions now on the future generations of the planet. We don’t know if just because we can produce something highly sophisticated, it is a good idea. In many respects we are blindly hurtling into the future like a child running along with a nuclear bomb in her hand. In order to make certain we are not headed for disaster we need to answer only one question. Do we choose to come from love or from separation. That will be the critical difference in how things turn out.
This short summary of our changing way of life and potential for the future has at best been simply scratching the surface, yet it tells us enough to be amazed, impressed, inspired, and perhaps deeply concerned. Let us then go back to the idea that we are moving from young soul values to mature soul values, from childhood into adolescence and see what this means for us as a world.
We know that latency age children are bright, innovative, increasingly independent, and love to play king of the mountain type games. They love competitive sports, beating on one another, and outdoing their peers. In fact they are heavily involved in bullying behavior in school and elsewhere. They are always playing games and require a high degree of entertainment and activity. In addition they are interested in testing their newfound abilities and become quite good at manipulating adults and bending the truth to get their needs met. Most children are loud, noisy, and energetic requiring a great deal of supervision and we know by experience that if they are not supervised they get into trouble. This was the great lesson of the book and film, Lord of the Flies. Lord of the flies is actually what we got on a worldwide level because young souls have not been properly supervised for a very long time. The height of the young soul era was the time of the absolute power of Kings and Queens, popes and despots, dictators and tyrants. They ran the world with an iron fist and all bowed to them. It was not much fun for everyone else but everyone did play the game, the Game of Thrones.” Those days for the most part are over but there are still hangers on. Witness North Korea and Syria. It is hard to give up childhood.
Here comes adolescence and we know that there is a huge difference between thirteen year olds and nineteen year old. This is a long sequence with dramatic growth and development in a stretch of six years. Fortunately not everyone is the equivalent of thirteen right now because there are about thirty six percent mature souls on the planet at this time and many of them are more evolved, say equivalent to a fifteen or eighteen year old in emotional maturity. In addition there are about fifteen percent old souls on the planet and together that accounts for about fifty one percent of the world population. Remember that old souls are the equivalent of adults so there are a fair number of people to educate, mentor, hold the line, and supervise the rest.
So what happens during adolescence? There is a huge growth in self awareness but not necessarily a huge growth in using good judgment. In addition there is massive development in social skills, in the ability to understand sophisticated concepts, even philosophy. Most importantly adolescence are developing interest in one another and have huge curiosity about sexuality and love. There is that word, love. Adolescents can be deeply compassionate and at times are forced into life situations where they have to support and help their families to survive. They know how to work hard for the benefit of others and are often involved in volunteer efforts and organizations that support the needy, the hungry, and the impoverished. They are like little adults and as they become eighteen and nineteen they may take on huge responsibilities, often in the military and in athletics. Adolescents are often the babysitters, the assistant coaches, the ones looking after the younger ones. They are mature enough to break up fights and help the younger ones to work things out when they are in conflict.
That is who are in charge of the planet now and that is a very good thing, yet they are young, uninitiated, idealistic, and do not always use the best judgment. They are learning however, and rapidly. And they know about love, are capable of loving, are interested in love unlike latency age children who are not interested in the subject at all. So we have an up and coming population on the planet, interested in love, and that is what we need to face the future. We can handle almost any social change, new set of technologies, new ways of governing and so on if we are willing to approach these things with a loving heart. Who is going to program those robots that make even more intelligent robots? Who is going to decide if a few individuals can control and dominate all the media outlets and the internet? Do we want latency age children doing it, those interested in dominance and a tiered social system, or do we want older adolescents and adults who see and know the value of altruism and love. The answer is obvious if we want to survive, prosper, and be happy. We have a choice and it is a choice already made far in the future because this planet is not going to go belly up.

Aunque se han escrito millones de palabras sobre el amor a lo largo de las eras, sobre la experiencia del amor, sobre el amor romántico, sobre el amor de Dios y así sucesivamente, el amor sigue siendo un tópico ilusorio. No hay palabras para capturarlo, explicarlo, comunicar su impacto real, influencia y experiencia. En una palabra, es imposible. La ciencia trata de analizar las sensaciones biológicas y el fenómeno del amor, pero gráficos, electrodos y modelos matemáticos nos dicen muy poco sobre la experiencia real. No obstante este artículo es otro intento de enfocarse en el, aun brevemente. El amor es tan importante, tan imprescindible para la supervivencia humana que sin el, estamos perdidos. Estamos acercándonos rápidamente al momento en el cual la raza humana dará tal salto cuántico que si no entendemos la importancia del amor, llegaremos a un horror tan doloroso que nadie consideraría aun la posibilidad de contemplarlo. Las buenas noticias radican en que es muy improbable y esas son las buenas noticias.
¿Qué sabemos del amor? Aparte de la ciencia, los grandes avatares y maestros espirituales nos han dicho lo suficiente para ayudar. Sabemos que el amor es magnético por el hecho de que este atrae los objetos hacia sí. La gente que se ama se atrae entre sí. Cuando ellos están en presencia del otro se sientan cerca, se abrazan, se aman, o simplemente están juntos. Disfrutan la compañía uno del otro. La gente que ama un lugar desea ir allí y hará hasta lo imposible por llegar allí. La gente dice que ama sus países o su tierra y es una de las pocas cosas por las que darían su vida. La gente que ama ciertos aspectos de la vida lo hacen de su interés como los deportes, los estudios, los pasatiempos y similares. Se acercan a esto como en la observación de aves, el trabajo con caballos o fotografiar flores. Así que eso es obvio. Lo que mucha gente no sabe es que el amor es una fuerza magnética que une las partículas para formar objetos en el universo. La propia presencia de planetas y estrellas es evidencia que el amor ha atraído las partículas para formarlos. Sin magnetismo no existiría nada físico.
Sabemos que sin amor la gente no considera que la vida valga la pena vivirla y sin amor la gente, los otros animales, y aun las plantas no pueden prosperar y perecen de negligencia. La ciencia ha corroborado eso y nuestra propia experiencia lo valida. También sabemos que el amor es una frecuencia particular cuyos síntomas pueden ser graficados y reseñados en estudios científicos. Los maestros espirituales nos dicen que el amor es una frecuencia que se extiende a lo largo del universo, que está a nuestro alrededor todo el tiempo, que no podemos escapar de ella excepto en nuestra imaginación.
La religión también habla de amor, con frases como “Dios nos ama” y “Dios es amor” y “Dios está en todas partes así que por definición el amor está también en todas partes.” Ser amados por Dios hace que las personas se sientan bien y quienes creen que están fuera del amor de Dios se sienten perdidos. Lo mismo sucede con quienes se aman a sí mismos y quienes no. Amarse a uno mismo y a los demás conduce a la felicidad y la carencia por tanto conduce a la desesperación. Las canciones que hablan de la desesperación del amor usualmente hablan de la obsesión o la lujuria que tiene poco que ver con el amor real.
Así que ahí lo tienen, lo que sabemos sobre el amor, pero ese no es sustituto de la cosa verdadera. La cosa verdadera es lo que hace que la gente dedique vidas enteras a la búsqueda de la iluminación y quienes tienen breves atisbos de ello dicen que estos han reorganizado sus prioridades para siempre. Después de una experiencia de amor cósmico total nada podría servirle de sustituto. Eso es todo lo que siempre querrían experimentar de nuevo, algo así como una buena dosis de heroína para utilizar un ejemplo fuera de lugar.
Por un momento, vamos a considerar la falta de amor o lo que los maestros espirituales dicen es la ilusión de la falta de amor. Si el amor nos une entonces la falta de amor parece separarnos o crear una sensación de separación de nosotros mismos, de los demás, de la naturaleza y de todo lo demás en que podamos pensar. Cuando operamos desde la ilusión de ausencia de amor hay un temor y el temor lleva a la sospecha, el prejuicio, la alienación, el juicio, las represalias, el castigo y el ataque. Cuando miramos el mundo desde este ángulo podemos ver claramente que este nos ha llevado a la desesperación, al sufrimiento y a la muerte. La historia humana está llena de consecuencias de este enfoque de la vida. Claramente tenemos una elección de amar o no, de atraer o repeler, de abrazar o atacar. Esta profunda elección es lo que enfrentamos al avanzar hacia los cambios masivos que están ya sobre nosotros. ¿Qué camino tomaremos? Por el camino las consecuencias de elegir uno u otro serán profundas y tan diferentes como la noche y el día. Visto desde este punto de vista: ¿por qué alguien elegiría la misma desesperación y sufrimiento de los cuales ya hemos visto tanto. Por qué no elegir la felicidad? La respuesta es simple. Nuestro fiel oponente, la falsa personalidad, el parásito como lo llaman los chamanes, lo quiere solamente de una forma. La separación y el temor es la única forma que conoce de mantener el control. La esencia por otra parte no sabe de otra cosa que no sea amor.
Ahora cambiemos al futuro. Sabemos por muchas profecías, Mayas, Tibetanas, Hopi y otras que nos espera un renacimiento más adelante en este siglo (aproximadamente para el 2070) y que primero habrá un tiempo de gran desbarajuste y reconstrucción de nuestra civilización planetaria. Los tiempos cambian con rapidez. Consideremos algunos de estos cambios y entonces miremos a lo que significa esta transformación con referencia al amor o a la carencia de este.
Comencemos con el cambio más influyente y dramático de todos; el cambio en percepción y valores alrededor del mundo. Este es un cambio dramático en los valores que dictan el comportamiento mundial y dominan la escena mundial. Nos estamos moviendo del conjunto de valores de: “Yo soy el rey de la montaña”, “El que muere con mayor cantidad de juguetes gana” y “Yo gano y tu pierdes”, a la percepción de: “Estamos en esto juntos”, “Yo se cómo te sientes” y “Yo gano y tu ganas”. Este es el cambio largamente predicho de los valores del alma joven a los del alma madura y está aquí ahora.
Ahora veamos cambios específicos que acompañan a este cambio de paradigma. Comencemos con nuestras identidades nacionales e internacionales. Las polaridades mayoría-minoría están rompiéndose en todo el mundo a medida que el matrimonio interracial y la inmigración cambian la cara de lo que parecemos y quien pensamos que somos. La ciudadanía se disuelve a medida que más y más países reconocen la ciudadanía múltiple y se vienen abajo los esfuerzos que hacen algunas políticas migratorias draconianas para excluir a la gente. Las alianzas entre países ya no están tan claras a medida que los países cambian su status económico, sus políticas y la gente que tradicionalmente compone la población, cambia sus valores. Las fronteras estrictas ente países se convertirán en algo del pasado. La movilidad se incrementa a través del turismo, el asesoramiento y el intercambio cultural y eventualmente quien es un ciudadano y quien no lo es se desvanecerá. Mañana billones de personas viajarán en comparación con los millones de hoy. Con los viajes viene la educación, la tolerancia, más entendimiento de las diferencias y la compasión.
Los medios de transporte cambiarán a medida que millones se transporten mediante tubos de vacío a mil millas por hora a todo el planeta. La lentitud y los gastos del viaje aéreo en jet serán reemplazados por tubos ágiles y eficientes a nivel de la superficie y mayormente subterráneos. Estos serán accionados completamente mediante energía solar y fuentes no tradicionales de energía. ¡Prepárense!
La economía mundial ya se está transformando en formas que hacen irreconocible e insostenible el viejo paradigma económico. Con el advenimiento de la mecanización, la robótica, la consolidación e industrias gigantescas estamos viendo el final de la jornada laboral a tiempo completo para las masas. Muchas más personas no encontrarán empleo en el futuro y las que lo hagan estarán trabajando bajo condiciones muy diferentes a las del pasado. Estarán compartiendo empleos, espacio de trabajo, maquinarias y títulos laborales. Los valores están cambiando ágilmente hacia la sostenibilidad, el propósito social, la participación intencionada y la integración de la vida laboral con la personal. Los planes de jubilación, la seguridad de la cuna a la tumba y las carreras permanentes, van por el camino de los dinosaurios. Pocos se mantienen en el mismo empleo por más de unos años ahora y muchos menos lo harán en el futuro. En el futuro la mayoría de la gente será independiente, trabajará por cuenta propia, contratándose y prestándose a cambio de remuneración.
La conectividad a través de los medios sociales y la red mundial están cambiando el plan de juego completamente tanto para los negocios como para los esfuerzos empresariales. Cualquiera puede obtener dinero a través de Internet para sus planes y proyectos personales. Las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales, organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro de todo tipo, y el micro-préstamo están rivalizando con las estructuras gubernamentales en la forma de hacer las cosas. La auto confianza y la iniciativa individual son las nuevas palabras de orden para el sostenimiento en el mundo. La creatividad está ahora en manos de todos y permite un cambio rápido de las estructuras tradicionales anteriormente sin rival.
Los medios sociales de comunicación permitirán la participación masiva en la determinación de las políticas y dirección de los gobiernos. Las estructuras políticas se están desarmando para ser reemplazadas por el voto directo y las sugerencias públicas sobre cómo resolver los problemas. Ya esto está sucediendo en locaciones seleccionadas alrededor del mundo. Las pequeñas minorías y los déspotas ya no serán capaces de controlar las políticas en resistencia a lo que quieren las masas. Las leyes sobre la marihuana y sobre la libertad de elección sexual son casos a la vista. Ellos son la punta del iceberg para lo que está por venir.
La muerte de la palabra escrita y el cambio a la simple representación visual permiten que todos aprendan en cantidades masivas a través de los medios sociales y se eduquen plenamente en las áreas de su interés. La educación tradicional se desvanece. Las orientaciones verbales reemplazarán rápidamente a la escritura de éstas como forma de interactuar con la nueva tecnología, los robots que continuarán siendo cada vez más pequeños e interactuando con todos los aspectos del entorno.
Es solo cuestión de tiempo para que la energía se vuelva barata, localizada y ambientalmente sostenible, disponible para la gente que vive en cualquier lugar del planeta. La gente vivirá en las ciudades por razones sociales pero no porque tengan que hacerlo.
La IA o Inteligencia Artificial está en su infancia ahora pero proliferará rápidamente a medida que las máquinas se vuelvan lo suficientemente sofisticadas para crear nuevas máquinas más avanzadas y así sucesivamente. ¿Suena espeluznante? Prepárense. Sucederá. Los drones, robots y los dispositivos de bioingeniería están avanzando mientras hablamos y en poco tiempo la web será capaz de producirse de manera masiva a través de impresoras que hacen que las impresoras actuales de 3D se vean anacrónicas. Las máquinas inteligentes ya están aquí y avanzará a paso acelerado. Ya no estará claro qué es humano y qué es robótico, qué es natural y qué es artificial, ya que los componentes de ambos se combinan de formas cada vez más creativas. ¿Quién controlará estos dispositivos y cómo?
Los descubrimientos biológicos y médicos continuarán deteniendo la vejez y la enfermedad se convertirá en algo cada vez menos amenazador a medida que encontramos formas de defendernos contra ella. ¿Habrá nuevas enfermedades quizás creadas en laboratorios o como resultado de experimentos? Probablemente. Sólo que no sabemos las consecuencias que tendrán nuestras acciones actuales sobre las generaciones futuras en el planeta. No sabemos si sólo porque producimos algo altamente sofisticado, sea una buena idea. En muchos aspectos estamos lanzándonos a ciegas hacia el futuro al igual que un niño que corre con una bomba nuclear en sus manos. Para asegurarnos de que no vayamos de cabeza al desastre necesitamos responder solamente una pregunta. Elegimos hacerlo desde el amor o desde la separación. Esa será la diferencia crucial en cuanto a cómo sucederán las cosas.
Este breve resumen de la forma en que cambia nuestro modo de vida y el potencial para el futuro ha sido cuando más un rasguño en la superficie, sin embargo nos dice lo suficiente para que nos asombremos, impresionemos, inspiremos y quizás nos preocupemos profundamente. Regresemos entonces a la idea de que nos transformamos de los valores de almas jóvenes a los valores de almas maduras, de la niñez a la adolescencia y veamos que significa para nosotros como humanidad.
Sabemos que los niños tienen en estado latente su inteligencia, innovación, su capacidad para ser cada vez más independientes y aman jugar a ser el rey de la montaña. Les gustan los deportes competitivos, ganarles los unos a los otros y superar a sus iguales. De hecho están fuertemente involucrados en un comportamiento intimidatorio en la escuela y en otros sitios. Siempre están jugando y necesitan un alto grado de entretenimiento y de actividad. Adicionalmente están interesados en probar las habilidades que van descubriendo y se vuelven expertos en la manipulación de adultos y en falsear la verdad para lograr sus objetivos. La mayoría son escandalosos, alborotadores y de gran requerimiento energético por lo que necesitan de mucha supervisión y sabemos por experiencia que si no se les supervisa se meten en problemas. Esta fue la gran lección del libro y del filme El Señor de las Moscas. El Señor de las Moscas es realmente lo que tenemos a nivel mundial porque las almas jóvenes no han sido supervisadas apropiadamente durante mucho tiempo. El punto máximo de la era del alma joven fue en la etapa del poder absoluto de Reyes y Reinas, papas y déspotas, dictadores y tiranos. Ellos dirigían el mundo con un puño de hierro y todos se inclinaban ante ellos. No era muy divertido para nadie más pero todos jugaban el juego, el Juego de los Tronos. Aquellos días han terminado fundamentalmente aunque todavía cuelga algo de eso. Vean a Corea del Norte y a Siria. Es difícil renunciar a la niñez.
Aquí viene la adolescencia y sabemos que hay una gran diferencia entre tener trece años y diecinueve años. Esta es una larga secuencia con crecimiento dramático y desarrollo en un marco de tiempo de seis años. Afortunadamente no todos son el equivalente de trece años ahora, porque hay alrededor de un treinta por ciento de almas maduras en el planeta en este momento y muchas de ellas son evolucionadas, digamos que equivalen a la madurez emocional de quince a dieciocho años. Adicionalmente hay un quince por ciento de almas viejas en el planeta y de conjunto esto suma alrededor de un cincuenta por ciento de la población mundial. Recuerden que las almas viejas equivalen a adultos, así que hay un número apropiado de personas capaces de educar, guiar, sostener y supervisar al resto.
Así que, ¿qué sucede durante la adolescencia? Hay un enorme crecimiento de la auto percepción pero no necesariamente un enorme crecimiento en el uso del buen juicio. Adicionalmente hay un desarrollo masivo en las habilidades sociales, en la capacidad para entender conceptos sofisticados, aún filosofía. Lo más importante de la adolescencia es el desarrollo del interés de unos a otros y una enorme curiosidad sobre la sexualidad y el amor. Ahí está esa palabra, amor. Los adolescentes pueden ser profundamente compasivos y a veces se ven forzados a situaciones donde tienen que apoyar y ayudar a sobrevivir a sus familias. Ellos saben cómo trabajar duro para el beneficio de los demás y a veces se involucran en esfuerzos voluntarios y organizaciones para sostener a los necesitados, hambrientos y empobrecidos. Son como pequeños adultos y al llegar a los dieciocho y diecinueve años pueden asumir enormes responsabilidades, a veces de tipo militar y en atletismo. Los adolescentes son a menudo las niñeras, los asistentes de los entrenadores, los que cuidan de los que son menores que ellos. Son lo suficientemente maduros para interrumpir peleas y ayudar a los menores a solucionar problemas en situaciones de conflicto.
Esos son los que están ahora a cargo del planeta y eso es algo muy bueno, sin embargo todavía ellos son jóvenes, no iniciados, idealistas y no siempre utilizan el buen juicio. No obstante están aprendiendo y rápidamente. Y saben sobre el amor, son capaces de amar, están interesados en el amor a diferencia de los niños en edades todavía de latencia que no están interesados en absoluto en el tema. Así que tenemos una población venidera en el planeta, interesada en el amor, y eso es lo que necesitamos para enfrentar el futuro. Podemos manejar cualquier cambio social, conjunto de nuevas tecnologías, nuevas formas de gobernar y así sucesivamente si estamos dispuestos a abordar estas cosas con un corazón amoroso. ¿Quién va a programar esos robots que fabrican a su vez robots aun más inteligentes? ¿Quién va a decidir si unos cuantos individuos pueden controlar y dominar todos los medios de comunicación e Internet? ¿Queremos que los niños en edad de latencia lo hagan - aquellos que están interesados en la dominación y en un sistema social de ataduras - o queremos adolescentes mayores y adultos que ven y conocen el valor del altruismo y el amor? La respuesta es obvia si queremos sobrevivir, prosperar y ser felices. Tenemos una elección y es una elección que ya ha sido hecha a lo lejos en el futuro porque este planeta no se va a ir de cabeza.

What do we know about love? Science aside, the great avatars and spiritual teachers have told us enough to help. We know that love is magnetic in that it draws objects to itself. People that love each other are drawn to each other. When they are in others physical presence they sit close, hug, make love, or just hang out together. They revel in each other’s company. People who love a place desire to go there and will do almost anything to get there. People say they love their countries or their land and it is one of the few things that they will give their lives for. People who love certain aspects of life make it their interest like outdoor sports, hobbies, studies, and the like. They get close to it like bird watching, working with horses, or photographing flowers. So that is obvious. What most people do not know is that love is a magnetic force that draws particles together to form objects in the universe. The mere presence of planets and stars is evidence that love has drawn the particles together to form them. Without magnetism there would be nothing physical.
We know that without love people do not consider life worth living and that without love people, the other animals, and even plants cannot thrive but perish from negligence. Science has corroborated that and our own experience validates it. We also know that love is a particular frequency whose symptoms can be graphed and highlighted in scientific studies. Spiritual teachers tell us that love is a frequency throughout the universe, that it is all around us all the time, that there is no escape from it except in our imaginations.
Religion speaks of love as well, with phrases like “God loves us” and “God is love” and “God is everywhere so love must by definition be everywhere too.” Feeling loved by God makes people feel good and those who believe they are outside God’s love feel lost. The same goes for those who love themselves and those who do not. Loving self and others leads to happiness and the lack therefore leads to misery. Songs that speak of the misery of love are usually talking about obsession or lust that has little to do with real love.
So there you have it, what we know about love, but that is no substitute for the real thing. The real thing is what causes people to spend entire lifetimes seeking enlightenment and those that have brief glimpses of it have said that it rearranged their priorities forever. After an experience of total cosmic love nothing could ever substitute for it. That is all they ever wanted to experience again, sort of like a heroin high to use a poor example.
For a moment let us consider lack of love or what spiritual teachers say is the illusion of lack of love. If love draws us closer together then lack of love seems to pull us apart or create a sense of separation from ourselves, others, nature, and just about everything we can think of. When we operate from the illusion of absence of love there is fear and fear leads to suspicion, prejudice, alienation, judgment, reprisals, punishment, and attack. When we look at the world from this angle we can clearly see that it has led us to misery, suffering, and death. Human history is loaded with the consequences of this approach to life. We clearly have a choice to love or not, to attract or repel, to embrace or attack. This profound choice is what we face as we head for the massive changes that are upon us. Which route will we take? Down the road the consequences for choosing one or the other will be profound and as different as night and day. Seen this way why would anyone choose the same misery and suffering we have already seen so much of. Why would we not choose happiness? The answer is simple. Our worthy opponent, the false personality, the parasite as the shamans call it, wants it only one way. Separation and fear is the only way it knows how to stay in control. Essence on the other hand knows nothing less than love.
Now let us shift to the future. We know from many prophecies, Mayan, Tibetan, Hopi and others that a renaissance awaits us later this century (approx. 2070) and that first there will be a time of heavy tear down and reconstruction of our planetary civilization. Times are changing fast. Let us consider some of these changes and then look at what this transformation means with reference to love or lack thereof.
Let us start with the most influential and dramatic change of all; the shift in perception and values around the world. This is a dramatic shift in the values that dictate world behavior and dominate the world scene. We are moving from “I am king of the mountain”, “He who dies with the most toys wins”, and “I win-you lose” set of values to “We are in this together”, “I know how you feel”, and “I win-you win” perception. This is the long predicted shift from young soul to mature soul values and it is here now.
Now let us look at specific changes that accompany this paradigm shift. Let us start with our national and international identities. Majority-minority polarities are breaking down around the world as racial intermarriage and immigration are changing the face of what we look like and whom we think we are. Citizenship is blurring as more and more countries recognize multiple citizenship and efforts to keep people out through draconian immigration policies will completely come apart. Alliances between countries are no longer clear as countries change economic status, change policies, and the people who traditionally make up the population change in values. Strict boundaries between countries will become a thing of the past. Mobility is increasing across the board for tourism, consulting, and cultural exchange and eventually who is a citizen and who is not will go away. Tomorrow billions of people will travel as compared with the many millions of today. With travel comes education, tolerance, more understanding of differences and compassion.
The means of travel will change as billions of people are transported by 1000 mile an hour vacuum tubes to every part of the planet. The clumsiness and expense of todays jet travel will be replaced by smooth efficient, and mostly below and on the ground tubes. These will run completely by solar power and non-traditional power sources. Get ready!
The world economy is already transforming itself in ways that make the old economic paradigm unrecognizable and untenable. With the advent of mechanization, robotics, consolidation, and too big to fail industries we are seeing an end to full time work for the masses. Many more people will not find employment in the future and those that do will be working under conditions dramatically different from prior times. They will be sharing jobs, workspace, machines, and job titles. Values are shifting swiftly to sustainability, social purpose, meaningful participation, and the integration of work life with personal life. Retirement plans, cradle to grave security, and permanent careers are going the way of the dinosaur. Few stay at the same job for more than a few years now and fewer less will do so in the future. In the future most people will be independents, working for themselves, contracting, and loaning themselves for remuneration.
Connectivity through social media and the world-wide web is already completely changing the game plan both for business and for entrepreneurial efforts. Anyone can now raise money through the internet for their personal projects and plans. NGO’s, non-profits of all stripes, and micro-loaning, are rivaling government structures for how things get done. Self-reliance and individual initiative are the new watchwords for survivability in the world. Creativity is now in everyone’s hands and allows for rapid change of traditional structures that were unrivaled before.
Social media will allow for massive participation in determining a government’s policies and direction. Political structures are falling apart to be replaced by direct voting and public suggestions about how to solve problems. This is already taking place in selected locations around the world. Tiny minorities and despots will no longer be able to control policies in resistance to what the masses want. Marijuana laws and gay freedom are cases in point. They are the tip of the iceberg for what is to come.
The demise of the written word to simple visual representation allows almost anyone to learn massive amounts through social media and become fully educated in the areas of their interest. Traditional education is going away. Verbal commands will quickly replace typing as the way to interface with new technology, robots that will continue to miniaturize and be interfacing with all aspects of the environment.
It is only a matter of time before energy will become cheap, localized, and environmentally sustainable, available to people living almost anywhere on the planet. People will live in cities for social reasons but not because they have to.
AI or artificial intelligence is in its infancy now but will rapidly proliferate as machines become sophisticated enough to create new more advance machines and so on. Sound scary? Get ready. It will happen. Drones, robots, and bioengineered devices are advancing as we speak and in a short time web will be able to be mass-produced through printers that make todays 3D printers look like buggy whips. Intelligent machines are already here and will advance at a breakneck pace. It will no longer be clear what is human and what is robotic, what is natural and what is artificial, as components of each are combined in ever more creative ways. Who will control these devices and how?
Biological and medical breakthroughs will continue to push back old age and disease will become less of a threat as we discover new ways to defend against it. Will there be new diseases perhaps created in labs or emerging out of our experiments? Most likely. We just don’t know the consequences of our actions now on the future generations of the planet. We don’t know if just because we can produce something highly sophisticated, it is a good idea. In many respects we are blindly hurtling into the future like a child running along with a nuclear bomb in her hand. In order to make certain we are not headed for disaster we need to answer only one question. Do we choose to come from love or from separation. That will be the critical difference in how things turn out.
This short summary of our changing way of life and potential for the future has at best been simply scratching the surface, yet it tells us enough to be amazed, impressed, inspired, and perhaps deeply concerned. Let us then go back to the idea that we are moving from young soul values to mature soul values, from childhood into adolescence and see what this means for us as a world.
We know that latency age children are bright, innovative, increasingly independent, and love to play king of the mountain type games. They love competitive sports, beating on one another, and outdoing their peers. In fact they are heavily involved in bullying behavior in school and elsewhere. They are always playing games and require a high degree of entertainment and activity. In addition they are interested in testing their newfound abilities and become quite good at manipulating adults and bending the truth to get their needs met. Most children are loud, noisy, and energetic requiring a great deal of supervision and we know by experience that if they are not supervised they get into trouble. This was the great lesson of the book and film, Lord of the Flies. Lord of the flies is actually what we got on a worldwide level because young souls have not been properly supervised for a very long time. The height of the young soul era was the time of the absolute power of Kings and Queens, popes and despots, dictators and tyrants. They ran the world with an iron fist and all bowed to them. It was not much fun for everyone else but everyone did play the game, the Game of Thrones.” Those days for the most part are over but there are still hangers on. Witness North Korea and Syria. It is hard to give up childhood.
Here comes adolescence and we know that there is a huge difference between thirteen year olds and nineteen year old. This is a long sequence with dramatic growth and development in a stretch of six years. Fortunately not everyone is the equivalent of thirteen right now because there are about thirty six percent mature souls on the planet at this time and many of them are more evolved, say equivalent to a fifteen or eighteen year old in emotional maturity. In addition there are about fifteen percent old souls on the planet and together that accounts for about fifty one percent of the world population. Remember that old souls are the equivalent of adults so there are a fair number of people to educate, mentor, hold the line, and supervise the rest.
So what happens during adolescence? There is a huge growth in self awareness but not necessarily a huge growth in using good judgment. In addition there is massive development in social skills, in the ability to understand sophisticated concepts, even philosophy. Most importantly adolescence are developing interest in one another and have huge curiosity about sexuality and love. There is that word, love. Adolescents can be deeply compassionate and at times are forced into life situations where they have to support and help their families to survive. They know how to work hard for the benefit of others and are often involved in volunteer efforts and organizations that support the needy, the hungry, and the impoverished. They are like little adults and as they become eighteen and nineteen they may take on huge responsibilities, often in the military and in athletics. Adolescents are often the babysitters, the assistant coaches, the ones looking after the younger ones. They are mature enough to break up fights and help the younger ones to work things out when they are in conflict.
That is who are in charge of the planet now and that is a very good thing, yet they are young, uninitiated, idealistic, and do not always use the best judgment. They are learning however, and rapidly. And they know about love, are capable of loving, are interested in love unlike latency age children who are not interested in the subject at all. So we have an up and coming population on the planet, interested in love, and that is what we need to face the future. We can handle almost any social change, new set of technologies, new ways of governing and so on if we are willing to approach these things with a loving heart. Who is going to program those robots that make even more intelligent robots? Who is going to decide if a few individuals can control and dominate all the media outlets and the internet? Do we want latency age children doing it, those interested in dominance and a tiered social system, or do we want older adolescents and adults who see and know the value of altruism and love. The answer is obvious if we want to survive, prosper, and be happy. We have a choice and it is a choice already made far in the future because this planet is not going to go belly up.

Aunque se han escrito millones de palabras sobre el amor a lo largo de las eras, sobre la experiencia del amor, sobre el amor romántico, sobre el amor de Dios y así sucesivamente, el amor sigue siendo un tópico ilusorio. No hay palabras para capturarlo, explicarlo, comunicar su impacto real, influencia y experiencia. En una palabra, es imposible. La ciencia trata de analizar las sensaciones biológicas y el fenómeno del amor, pero gráficos, electrodos y modelos matemáticos nos dicen muy poco sobre la experiencia real. No obstante este artículo es otro intento de enfocarse en el, aun brevemente. El amor es tan importante, tan imprescindible para la supervivencia humana que sin el, estamos perdidos. Estamos acercándonos rápidamente al momento en el cual la raza humana dará tal salto cuántico que si no entendemos la importancia del amor, llegaremos a un horror tan doloroso que nadie consideraría aun la posibilidad de contemplarlo. Las buenas noticias radican en que es muy improbable y esas son las buenas noticias.
¿Qué sabemos del amor? Aparte de la ciencia, los grandes avatares y maestros espirituales nos han dicho lo suficiente para ayudar. Sabemos que el amor es magnético por el hecho de que este atrae los objetos hacia sí. La gente que se ama se atrae entre sí. Cuando ellos están en presencia del otro se sientan cerca, se abrazan, se aman, o simplemente están juntos. Disfrutan la compañía uno del otro. La gente que ama un lugar desea ir allí y hará hasta lo imposible por llegar allí. La gente dice que ama sus países o su tierra y es una de las pocas cosas por las que darían su vida. La gente que ama ciertos aspectos de la vida lo hacen de su interés como los deportes, los estudios, los pasatiempos y similares. Se acercan a esto como en la observación de aves, el trabajo con caballos o fotografiar flores. Así que eso es obvio. Lo que mucha gente no sabe es que el amor es una fuerza magnética que une las partículas para formar objetos en el universo. La propia presencia de planetas y estrellas es evidencia que el amor ha atraído las partículas para formarlos. Sin magnetismo no existiría nada físico.
Sabemos que sin amor la gente no considera que la vida valga la pena vivirla y sin amor la gente, los otros animales, y aun las plantas no pueden prosperar y perecen de negligencia. La ciencia ha corroborado eso y nuestra propia experiencia lo valida. También sabemos que el amor es una frecuencia particular cuyos síntomas pueden ser graficados y reseñados en estudios científicos. Los maestros espirituales nos dicen que el amor es una frecuencia que se extiende a lo largo del universo, que está a nuestro alrededor todo el tiempo, que no podemos escapar de ella excepto en nuestra imaginación.
La religión también habla de amor, con frases como “Dios nos ama” y “Dios es amor” y “Dios está en todas partes así que por definición el amor está también en todas partes.” Ser amados por Dios hace que las personas se sientan bien y quienes creen que están fuera del amor de Dios se sienten perdidos. Lo mismo sucede con quienes se aman a sí mismos y quienes no. Amarse a uno mismo y a los demás conduce a la felicidad y la carencia por tanto conduce a la desesperación. Las canciones que hablan de la desesperación del amor usualmente hablan de la obsesión o la lujuria que tiene poco que ver con el amor real.
Así que ahí lo tienen, lo que sabemos sobre el amor, pero ese no es sustituto de la cosa verdadera. La cosa verdadera es lo que hace que la gente dedique vidas enteras a la búsqueda de la iluminación y quienes tienen breves atisbos de ello dicen que estos han reorganizado sus prioridades para siempre. Después de una experiencia de amor cósmico total nada podría servirle de sustituto. Eso es todo lo que siempre querrían experimentar de nuevo, algo así como una buena dosis de heroína para utilizar un ejemplo fuera de lugar.
Por un momento, vamos a considerar la falta de amor o lo que los maestros espirituales dicen es la ilusión de la falta de amor. Si el amor nos une entonces la falta de amor parece separarnos o crear una sensación de separación de nosotros mismos, de los demás, de la naturaleza y de todo lo demás en que podamos pensar. Cuando operamos desde la ilusión de ausencia de amor hay un temor y el temor lleva a la sospecha, el prejuicio, la alienación, el juicio, las represalias, el castigo y el ataque. Cuando miramos el mundo desde este ángulo podemos ver claramente que este nos ha llevado a la desesperación, al sufrimiento y a la muerte. La historia humana está llena de consecuencias de este enfoque de la vida. Claramente tenemos una elección de amar o no, de atraer o repeler, de abrazar o atacar. Esta profunda elección es lo que enfrentamos al avanzar hacia los cambios masivos que están ya sobre nosotros. ¿Qué camino tomaremos? Por el camino las consecuencias de elegir uno u otro serán profundas y tan diferentes como la noche y el día. Visto desde este punto de vista: ¿por qué alguien elegiría la misma desesperación y sufrimiento de los cuales ya hemos visto tanto. Por qué no elegir la felicidad? La respuesta es simple. Nuestro fiel oponente, la falsa personalidad, el parásito como lo llaman los chamanes, lo quiere solamente de una forma. La separación y el temor es la única forma que conoce de mantener el control. La esencia por otra parte no sabe de otra cosa que no sea amor.
Ahora cambiemos al futuro. Sabemos por muchas profecías, Mayas, Tibetanas, Hopi y otras que nos espera un renacimiento más adelante en este siglo (aproximadamente para el 2070) y que primero habrá un tiempo de gran desbarajuste y reconstrucción de nuestra civilización planetaria. Los tiempos cambian con rapidez. Consideremos algunos de estos cambios y entonces miremos a lo que significa esta transformación con referencia al amor o a la carencia de este.
Comencemos con el cambio más influyente y dramático de todos; el cambio en percepción y valores alrededor del mundo. Este es un cambio dramático en los valores que dictan el comportamiento mundial y dominan la escena mundial. Nos estamos moviendo del conjunto de valores de: “Yo soy el rey de la montaña”, “El que muere con mayor cantidad de juguetes gana” y “Yo gano y tu pierdes”, a la percepción de: “Estamos en esto juntos”, “Yo se cómo te sientes” y “Yo gano y tu ganas”. Este es el cambio largamente predicho de los valores del alma joven a los del alma madura y está aquí ahora.
Ahora veamos cambios específicos que acompañan a este cambio de paradigma. Comencemos con nuestras identidades nacionales e internacionales. Las polaridades mayoría-minoría están rompiéndose en todo el mundo a medida que el matrimonio interracial y la inmigración cambian la cara de lo que parecemos y quien pensamos que somos. La ciudadanía se disuelve a medida que más y más países reconocen la ciudadanía múltiple y se vienen abajo los esfuerzos que hacen algunas políticas migratorias draconianas para excluir a la gente. Las alianzas entre países ya no están tan claras a medida que los países cambian su status económico, sus políticas y la gente que tradicionalmente compone la población, cambia sus valores. Las fronteras estrictas ente países se convertirán en algo del pasado. La movilidad se incrementa a través del turismo, el asesoramiento y el intercambio cultural y eventualmente quien es un ciudadano y quien no lo es se desvanecerá. Mañana billones de personas viajarán en comparación con los millones de hoy. Con los viajes viene la educación, la tolerancia, más entendimiento de las diferencias y la compasión.
Los medios de transporte cambiarán a medida que millones se transporten mediante tubos de vacío a mil millas por hora a todo el planeta. La lentitud y los gastos del viaje aéreo en jet serán reemplazados por tubos ágiles y eficientes a nivel de la superficie y mayormente subterráneos. Estos serán accionados completamente mediante energía solar y fuentes no tradicionales de energía. ¡Prepárense!
La economía mundial ya se está transformando en formas que hacen irreconocible e insostenible el viejo paradigma económico. Con el advenimiento de la mecanización, la robótica, la consolidación e industrias gigantescas estamos viendo el final de la jornada laboral a tiempo completo para las masas. Muchas más personas no encontrarán empleo en el futuro y las que lo hagan estarán trabajando bajo condiciones muy diferentes a las del pasado. Estarán compartiendo empleos, espacio de trabajo, maquinarias y títulos laborales. Los valores están cambiando ágilmente hacia la sostenibilidad, el propósito social, la participación intencionada y la integración de la vida laboral con la personal. Los planes de jubilación, la seguridad de la cuna a la tumba y las carreras permanentes, van por el camino de los dinosaurios. Pocos se mantienen en el mismo empleo por más de unos años ahora y muchos menos lo harán en el futuro. En el futuro la mayoría de la gente será independiente, trabajará por cuenta propia, contratándose y prestándose a cambio de remuneración.
La conectividad a través de los medios sociales y la red mundial están cambiando el plan de juego completamente tanto para los negocios como para los esfuerzos empresariales. Cualquiera puede obtener dinero a través de Internet para sus planes y proyectos personales. Las Organizaciones No Gubernamentales, organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro de todo tipo, y el micro-préstamo están rivalizando con las estructuras gubernamentales en la forma de hacer las cosas. La auto confianza y la iniciativa individual son las nuevas palabras de orden para el sostenimiento en el mundo. La creatividad está ahora en manos de todos y permite un cambio rápido de las estructuras tradicionales anteriormente sin rival.
Los medios sociales de comunicación permitirán la participación masiva en la determinación de las políticas y dirección de los gobiernos. Las estructuras políticas se están desarmando para ser reemplazadas por el voto directo y las sugerencias públicas sobre cómo resolver los problemas. Ya esto está sucediendo en locaciones seleccionadas alrededor del mundo. Las pequeñas minorías y los déspotas ya no serán capaces de controlar las políticas en resistencia a lo que quieren las masas. Las leyes sobre la marihuana y sobre la libertad de elección sexual son casos a la vista. Ellos son la punta del iceberg para lo que está por venir.
La muerte de la palabra escrita y el cambio a la simple representación visual permiten que todos aprendan en cantidades masivas a través de los medios sociales y se eduquen plenamente en las áreas de su interés. La educación tradicional se desvanece. Las orientaciones verbales reemplazarán rápidamente a la escritura de éstas como forma de interactuar con la nueva tecnología, los robots que continuarán siendo cada vez más pequeños e interactuando con todos los aspectos del entorno.
Es solo cuestión de tiempo para que la energía se vuelva barata, localizada y ambientalmente sostenible, disponible para la gente que vive en cualquier lugar del planeta. La gente vivirá en las ciudades por razones sociales pero no porque tengan que hacerlo.
La IA o Inteligencia Artificial está en su infancia ahora pero proliferará rápidamente a medida que las máquinas se vuelvan lo suficientemente sofisticadas para crear nuevas máquinas más avanzadas y así sucesivamente. ¿Suena espeluznante? Prepárense. Sucederá. Los drones, robots y los dispositivos de bioingeniería están avanzando mientras hablamos y en poco tiempo la web será capaz de producirse de manera masiva a través de impresoras que hacen que las impresoras actuales de 3D se vean anacrónicas. Las máquinas inteligentes ya están aquí y avanzará a paso acelerado. Ya no estará claro qué es humano y qué es robótico, qué es natural y qué es artificial, ya que los componentes de ambos se combinan de formas cada vez más creativas. ¿Quién controlará estos dispositivos y cómo?
Los descubrimientos biológicos y médicos continuarán deteniendo la vejez y la enfermedad se convertirá en algo cada vez menos amenazador a medida que encontramos formas de defendernos contra ella. ¿Habrá nuevas enfermedades quizás creadas en laboratorios o como resultado de experimentos? Probablemente. Sólo que no sabemos las consecuencias que tendrán nuestras acciones actuales sobre las generaciones futuras en el planeta. No sabemos si sólo porque producimos algo altamente sofisticado, sea una buena idea. En muchos aspectos estamos lanzándonos a ciegas hacia el futuro al igual que un niño que corre con una bomba nuclear en sus manos. Para asegurarnos de que no vayamos de cabeza al desastre necesitamos responder solamente una pregunta. Elegimos hacerlo desde el amor o desde la separación. Esa será la diferencia crucial en cuanto a cómo sucederán las cosas.
Este breve resumen de la forma en que cambia nuestro modo de vida y el potencial para el futuro ha sido cuando más un rasguño en la superficie, sin embargo nos dice lo suficiente para que nos asombremos, impresionemos, inspiremos y quizás nos preocupemos profundamente. Regresemos entonces a la idea de que nos transformamos de los valores de almas jóvenes a los valores de almas maduras, de la niñez a la adolescencia y veamos que significa para nosotros como humanidad.
Sabemos que los niños tienen en estado latente su inteligencia, innovación, su capacidad para ser cada vez más independientes y aman jugar a ser el rey de la montaña. Les gustan los deportes competitivos, ganarles los unos a los otros y superar a sus iguales. De hecho están fuertemente involucrados en un comportamiento intimidatorio en la escuela y en otros sitios. Siempre están jugando y necesitan un alto grado de entretenimiento y de actividad. Adicionalmente están interesados en probar las habilidades que van descubriendo y se vuelven expertos en la manipulación de adultos y en falsear la verdad para lograr sus objetivos. La mayoría son escandalosos, alborotadores y de gran requerimiento energético por lo que necesitan de mucha supervisión y sabemos por experiencia que si no se les supervisa se meten en problemas. Esta fue la gran lección del libro y del filme El Señor de las Moscas. El Señor de las Moscas es realmente lo que tenemos a nivel mundial porque las almas jóvenes no han sido supervisadas apropiadamente durante mucho tiempo. El punto máximo de la era del alma joven fue en la etapa del poder absoluto de Reyes y Reinas, papas y déspotas, dictadores y tiranos. Ellos dirigían el mundo con un puño de hierro y todos se inclinaban ante ellos. No era muy divertido para nadie más pero todos jugaban el juego, el Juego de los Tronos. Aquellos días han terminado fundamentalmente aunque todavía cuelga algo de eso. Vean a Corea del Norte y a Siria. Es difícil renunciar a la niñez.
Aquí viene la adolescencia y sabemos que hay una gran diferencia entre tener trece años y diecinueve años. Esta es una larga secuencia con crecimiento dramático y desarrollo en un marco de tiempo de seis años. Afortunadamente no todos son el equivalente de trece años ahora, porque hay alrededor de un treinta por ciento de almas maduras en el planeta en este momento y muchas de ellas son evolucionadas, digamos que equivalen a la madurez emocional de quince a dieciocho años. Adicionalmente hay un quince por ciento de almas viejas en el planeta y de conjunto esto suma alrededor de un cincuenta por ciento de la población mundial. Recuerden que las almas viejas equivalen a adultos, así que hay un número apropiado de personas capaces de educar, guiar, sostener y supervisar al resto.
Así que, ¿qué sucede durante la adolescencia? Hay un enorme crecimiento de la auto percepción pero no necesariamente un enorme crecimiento en el uso del buen juicio. Adicionalmente hay un desarrollo masivo en las habilidades sociales, en la capacidad para entender conceptos sofisticados, aún filosofía. Lo más importante de la adolescencia es el desarrollo del interés de unos a otros y una enorme curiosidad sobre la sexualidad y el amor. Ahí está esa palabra, amor. Los adolescentes pueden ser profundamente compasivos y a veces se ven forzados a situaciones donde tienen que apoyar y ayudar a sobrevivir a sus familias. Ellos saben cómo trabajar duro para el beneficio de los demás y a veces se involucran en esfuerzos voluntarios y organizaciones para sostener a los necesitados, hambrientos y empobrecidos. Son como pequeños adultos y al llegar a los dieciocho y diecinueve años pueden asumir enormes responsabilidades, a veces de tipo militar y en atletismo. Los adolescentes son a menudo las niñeras, los asistentes de los entrenadores, los que cuidan de los que son menores que ellos. Son lo suficientemente maduros para interrumpir peleas y ayudar a los menores a solucionar problemas en situaciones de conflicto.
Esos son los que están ahora a cargo del planeta y eso es algo muy bueno, sin embargo todavía ellos son jóvenes, no iniciados, idealistas y no siempre utilizan el buen juicio. No obstante están aprendiendo y rápidamente. Y saben sobre el amor, son capaces de amar, están interesados en el amor a diferencia de los niños en edades todavía de latencia que no están interesados en absoluto en el tema. Así que tenemos una población venidera en el planeta, interesada en el amor, y eso es lo que necesitamos para enfrentar el futuro. Podemos manejar cualquier cambio social, conjunto de nuevas tecnologías, nuevas formas de gobernar y así sucesivamente si estamos dispuestos a abordar estas cosas con un corazón amoroso. ¿Quién va a programar esos robots que fabrican a su vez robots aun más inteligentes? ¿Quién va a decidir si unos cuantos individuos pueden controlar y dominar todos los medios de comunicación e Internet? ¿Queremos que los niños en edad de latencia lo hagan - aquellos que están interesados en la dominación y en un sistema social de ataduras - o queremos adolescentes mayores y adultos que ven y conocen el valor del altruismo y el amor? La respuesta es obvia si queremos sobrevivir, prosperar y ser felices. Tenemos una elección y es una elección que ya ha sido hecha a lo lejos en el futuro porque este planeta no se va a ir de cabeza.
