December offers opportunities for creating positive change and an optimistic outlook. Jupiter in Leo goes retrograde and Uranus in Aries turns direct, with both forming a fire grand trine with the Sun in Sagittarius at the Full Moon.  This energetic pattern will help us create new opportunities to achieve our higher goals.  Saturn enters the sign of Sagittarius for the next two years, providing a practical perspective for our visions and ideals.  The month begins under the Sagittarius new moon cycle, with a focus on one’s spiritual path, journeys and achieving a higher perspective.
On December 6 the Full Moon occurs at 14 Gemini.  It opposes Mercury, Venus and Ceres, which indicates that we need to stay positive and supportive in our thoughts and communications.  The fire grand trine created by the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus adds a burst of energy that also allows us to achieve greater clarity about our life purpose at this time.   The Sabian symbol keynotes for these degrees, “The need to clarify one’s experiences through actual contacts with like-minded individuals,” and “The value of anticipating new turns of events and ascertaining future prospects,” suggest the importance of communication within one’s spiritual circle to gain new perspectives and make preparation for new changes.

Esoteric symbols are those with a hidden meaning, likely to be understood only by a small number of people, and have been used throughout time in the great spiritual traditions to guide truth seekers. Depending on how they’re used they can represent and attract either forces of darkness or forces of light.
Increasingly esoteric symbols are making their way into popular culture, especially in high profile places like the music industry. What is the source of these symbols? Why are so many artists using them? Are they just something “cool” that major players came up with to represent their personal brands? Or are they part of a sinister plan? As the name suggests, meditative writing is the act using meditation to get into a deeper state of consciousness and use the energy and inspiration that results to write or express ourselves in another way.
I think meditative writing can be a great way to fade into the sacred self while being creative and expressional at the same time, and it can allow us to transcend the mind and express ourselves from a deeper, more spiritually alive and conscious level.
There’s nothing wrong with writing without the influence of meditation, of course, and potent articles can be produced either way. I sometimes prefer meditative writing because I enjoy getting into a deep state of consciousness and basically transcending the ego as I write.

It may seem that the two themes are not related to each other but they are not only related but also mutually supportive. Hopefully by now we are all more comfortable dealing with the unknown, as that theme from November will continue to influence us over the next few months.
However this month we shift our focus to more of how we can actually deal with the unknown by examining where and how we are RESPONSIBLE as well as learning to identify and take advantage of OPPORTUNITY.
Let’s start with RESPONSIBILITY as that is the main theme that shows up first.
In defining RESPONSIBILITY, I like to include “the ability to respond” as part of the definition. You should always be the first responder to whatever is happening in your life. You should be the first responder to your own issues. It helps if you can always come from the place of accepting that you create absolutely everything and every situation in your life. The power in that responsibility is that if you created it, you can uncreate it, you can change it, and you can always create something new.
This is not to say that you have to do it alone and can never ask for help. You can have incredible support, cooperation and guidance, but this month’s lesson is to really get that no one else can do it, heal it or fix it for you. You can have all the guidance in the world, all the meditations, visualizations, therapy, healing work, advice, financial support and help, but if you do not RESPOND in a way that takes full responsibility for your situation, you will not change anything in the end.

I have collected a number of “orb” photos over the past few years and indeed been very lucky to have actually seen the orb of my guardian angel circling above my bed at night several times. However, I am very aware that in many photos things that look like orbs are in fact a function of light entering the lens at a particular angle. Whenever I have sun light shining towards my camera or at any angle in front of the lens, I discard any resulting orb.
