From Your Hostess of Light: The vibration of duality dances with its moody partner Gemini, in between two eclipses that ‘Squeeze Play The Heart’ and mercury retrograde that asks you to look at everything that you once did or Un-did. This is a no-nonsense game of clearing we are playing with ripples that can be felt throughout time. The dark and the light within each of us, within every choice, within every relationship, stands face to face, heart to heart and choice to choice. This is big ‘We are all at a Crossroads’ literally energetically and physically. Do we allow life and others to crucify us or do we follow the insight of Dolly Parton when she wisely said ‘honey get off that cross because somebody needs that wood’.
There is no high road or low road just the road the soul is destined to walk. As we move closer to summer solstice all of this will be made brilliantly clear as solar light intensity accentuates every dirty little corner of ones life. Which Maker do we answer to, which love do we bow to?
The Duality of self, of humanness, of light and dark, makes us go back in time and look at all the facets we once were in order to formulate a picture of the future. In this month of Duality there is no good guy, there is no bad guy, there just is! As the energy of Gemini clatters with its doppelganger self, we all feel pulled in every direction, like a new perm on a windy day.
The dark and the light of the mischievous Gemini twins demands that we make peace with the pushy energy within us, before we battle the pushy energy on the outer limits. Everyone is a little more sensitive, a little testy, a lot distracted, but mostly befuddled and ambiguous. We seek council of our own Light and soul but all we see is haze. Our moods and thoughts change like the weather. We do not feel like we fit in our skin, or life. We look at those we love and wonder what happened went wrong?
In this place of many fractures and mirrors, there is no good or bad, nor right or wrong, there is only reflection and a need to understand and love that reflection in totality. The fork in the upcoming road leads humanity down a rutted path; A place where compasses and ‘google’ no longer work and the landscape shifts hiding its true colors in plain sight. The teachings of Mercury and Gemini are so animated it is like 3rd graders in an unrehearsed Christmas play after too much soda and cupcakes, too many animated electrons. Just like the flow of liquid mercury, life and time move in an un-harnessed fashion doing what it wants to, when it wants to, nature knows its direction forward.
The Gemini twins are both identical and fraternal of nature. They mirror each other but they also bend and refract each other. Unpredictable is the word for this season of re-structure. Restructure can be the hard way, like you just hired beavers to do construction on your home, or the easy way where you swim with the rip tides and do not fight the force (as resistance is futile lately). Everything is turned upside down flowing in the opposite direction you are being forced to see the world at a new angle of possibility.
What we once thought was our truth has left the building for good. Who we once thought we were is no longer available in this dimensional flux. The summer will see to the task of pushing our melting buttons. Like a falling acorn, we allow nature to cushion our tumbles, planting us where she deems fit. It is best to no longer be attached to any outcome as they have taken flight and now soar on their own. The summer solstice allows you entrance into a place of comfort for a few moments in solar time. The light increases every day from now to the solstice when it reaches a peak. This is a time to Seek your spiritual peak as well.
‘Lady of the Woods’ the Teachings of Birch
Lately the vibration of what is BIRCH IN NATURE has made its way to my door, along with the frequency of the 17 year cicadas. There are many types of tree on this property but no birch, so I thought that was very interesting. As I researched the vibration of birch a lot of magical insights came forth. Birch is The Tree of New Beginnings Birch wood is believed to ward off evil, banish fears and build courage. Associated with beauty and tolerance, the Birch’s vibration heightens tolerance of oneself and others. Use a Birch Broom to brush out the old year on the morning after Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. Add the cut bark to protection spells or drink birch beer if you feel you are under psychic attack. Birch is the traditional Yule Log. Traditionally, Birch twigs were used to light the Beltane fires.
The traditional broom of the Witches was made of birch twigs, and cradles were once made from birch wood for the sole purpose to protect the helpless children. with Birch, you come into the rhythm of life, the empowerment of dreams, and the ability to vision your possibilities. Birch’s essence is to create, bring together dreams and prepare for the new patterns of living. At Candlemas in February, her white bark is used to symbolize the return of light.
It is time for a new start. Before this can be safely embarked upon, however, all old ideas, unhelpful influences and bad thoughts need to be cast aside. In making your spiritual journey with this tree as a guide, remember to concentrate your mind on the uplifting slender whiteness of the tree, a whiteness that stands out clearly from the tangled undergrowth and confusion of shrubs and thorny bushes that cover the forest floor and, hence, may inhibit an easy journeyBirch twig brooms were also used in the ritual of ‘Beating the Bounds’. Members of a Parish would walk the ‘bounds’ of the village, beating various landmarks along the way to mark out the boundaries. Birching can be used as a synonym for beating as objects were beaten with birch twigs, brooms or sticks to rid them of evil spirits.
Birch is known as ‘The Goddess Tree’, ‘The Lady of the Woods’. The Birch tree is bringer of promise, light and new beginnings. Known by the Celts as Beith (pronounced ‘bay’) it is the symbol of new beginnings, regeneration, hope, new dawns and the promise of what is to come. The tree carries ancient wisdom and yet appears forever young. The Druids were believed to have used the sap to make a spiritual cup for the celebration of the Spring Equinox
The White Goddess, The Lady of the Woods, The Silver Maiden and The Birchen Maiden are names for the goddess of Birch. On first sight, you would think her a gentle, shy tree – but alas she is the powerful symbol of continual hope and regeneration. It’s easy to see the impact she must have made in ancient times, her white bark shining in torch and firelight or on full moon nights, her leaves rustling and shivering as the people’s hopes grew with the greening and the coming of spring.
Birch Magic, Charms and Beliefs
***Write a wish on birch bark with the charcoal-like tip of a burned
birch twig. Keep it safe and secret and your wish will be fulfilled.
***To
cool any violent passion, anger or over-reaction, sit alone for a while
with your back against the birch trunk. If this isn’t possible, take
something of birch in your hands and sit alone and quiet. Its innocent
energy will channel your strong feelings into wise ways.
***Carry a birch twig or roundel cut from a branch as protection against malign influences.
***Burn
a little birch bark or dried leaf on its own or as part of a purpose
made incense blend at the start of any important new beginning or before
a journey.
***A cradle, toy or decoration made from birch wood will
protect the baby against bad spirits, and against faeries who are intent
on turning the child into a changeling.
***Use a birch wand to gain
fresh perspectives on old ideas, and to get ideas started when the
creative flow is blocked. ***They are powerful faery, light bringers.
***Herd your cow with a birch stick and she will be fertile and birth healthy calves.
***The oil from Birch bark is used for treating skin conditions, and insect repellent.
Teachings of Cicada
The universe always has an interesting way to present its wisdoms. Living tucked in the side of mountain in east Tennessee always has its teaching. Just recently I woke up to the loudest noise I have ever heard ‘in these here hills’. I texted the farmer neighbor next place over and asked him if he could hear the noise, he texted back and said you mean the cicadas? I thought holy moly what a powerful energy these cicadas were, The noise was so loud echoing off the holler I thought it was like 50 emergency vehicles gathered for some global emergency. So yes the Cicada has been a spirit totem for many of us.
Every 17 years the vibration of the Cicadas come to give us a big reminder and teaching. Their wakeup call serves as a direct calling to people who need to come out from hiding and break free, “to shed the old skin”. The Cicada shows a person’s ability to be reborn as a new, better individual. Cicada teaches you how to identify your authentic voice, all the while helping you embrace transformative moments in your life. When the Cicada comes into your awareness as a Spirit Animal, a time of emergence is at hand. You can no longer hide underground or sit on the sidelines. It’s time to stand up put on your big girl panties and work on self-development.
Cicada hums about the past, metamorphosis, and changes yet to come. It is time for shaking off the restrictions imposed by self or others. Cicada signals shedding your old skin, the process will be a little uncomfortable at first. Examining elements of your past requires a lot of honesty. Once you release the old ways, like the Cicada, you re-emerge and blossom. Cicada challenges you to work on your communication skills, to find your true voice, something to carry forward into the world that beats to the rhythm of your heart.
Diving Down the Rabbit Hole of Self, Summer 2021
As the memory of what was, seems to drift like a dream in the morning mist, we continue to move quickly down the corridor of shifting time. We are being ushered into a light sequence that swings both ways. Down hallways that never end, into a place that is not seen by the average eye. All of humanity has seen and felt the adjustment as we walk the narrow trail of confusion, praying it does not turn into a trail of tears
We all scamper like rabbits, our furry little feet going as fast as they can. The Time doors continue to brush past us like a blast of wind, not asking our permission as it pushes us into a corner of seemingly limited choices but alas that too is grand deception, a holographic projection of a possibility, a could be, not a should be as nothing is fixed in time. Time has shifted as has many land masses; earth continues to let us know she means business, like a scorned woman. New land is birthed old land is transformed as Longitudes and latitudes dance to a new beat.
We all still organically walk to the beat of the old drum as worldly perceptions are heightened and we see in and out of time. Like a peeping tom we continue to watch as hiccups present themselves causing instant replays with a dash of Quantum Leap. Seeing between the worlds is a great responsibility one must hold tightly as time doors open and close without warning. The unexpected becomes predictable.
This summer asks us to delve down the magical rabbit hole and see what our soul is made of, pushing us into all surfaces of self in all longitudes and latitudes of time. Mirrors are a portal of transport to places that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The place of mirrors that lives within comes to reveal what needs to be seen, loved and healed. Time doors open and close faster than the blink of an eye. Truth and time are individual, and do not present a singular vow.
That which has appeared emptied now becomes full, freeing itself from past definition. A transferal of realms occurs escorting earth into the nexus cornerstone of time. All limitations are transmuted in this expanded version of reality. Do you have the courage to quantum leap open-eyed into this fluid point of possibility? Relax into the Shifts, look at them I Am to eye, seeing with the wisdom of a thousand lightyears. See beyond what you see. This stone is so beautiful it takes your breath away in awe, like seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time.
