Jennifer Hoffman - Dimming your Light or Shining Bright? - June 4, 2019

We all have very bright lights but we don’t use our lights to their full capacity for many reasons. We are afraid to outshine others and we probably have many examples of people in our lives telling us that our light is too bright, our energy too high, and our energy is too much. So from a very early age we learn to dim our lights when we are faced with these kinds of criticisms and judgments.

In fact we get so good at dimming our lights that sometimes we keep them at their lowest settings all of the time. Or we automatically turn our light down when we are around certain people or situations – and these are times when we need to shine our lights very brightly.

Have you ever caught yourself assessing whether someone might think your light is to bright and automatically turning it down?

When was the last time you turned your light up really brightly, full high beams, just to see what it felt like?

My dimmer switch exercise is something I first shared on the Enlightening Life radio show in 2010 and I have taught this method to clients and students for decades. It’s such a great tool for energy management that everyone who uses it gets great results.

And they notice something else – they start paying attention to when they get the urge to dim their light and turn their energy down, and they learn to resist it and instead, turn it up in those times. I hope you will benefit from it too.

Listen to the Dimmer Switch Energy Exercise below and then leave a comment to let me know how it works for you.
