Lena Stevens - Pat Liles - New Moon Update 5-25-17
De
Dear Friends,
New Moon is Thursday, May 25, at 1:44 PM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).
You can experience this new moon either from a place of despair and suffering over loss, confusion or chaos in your life, or you can be in deep gratitude for the experiences that you have had and the lessons learned. The impermanence of life should be honored and the nostalgia of times past celebrated.
This could be an emotional moon with a sense of wanting some space to be alone. However, community is important as well and it is advised that you get support to be in a space of beauty, love and wonder instead of dark despair. Even though a new moon is a time for going within and resetting priorities and intentions, this moon does have an element of reaching out for community support.
There is an aspect of this new moon that invites us to forgive whatever you think is wrong or has been wrong so that you can move on with your deepest desires. If you are still chewing on parts the past with resentment, guilt, shame or anger, this is a good time to let it go.
Blessings,
Lena

Gemini New Moon
Sun and Moon in Gemini ~ 4º
Thursday, May 25, 1:44 PM Mountain Daylight Time
(May 25, 9:44 PM British Summer Time)
We’ve entered an airy time with Gemini New Moon. We feel the sap rising in the northern latitudes and it makes us want to zip around networking, connecting, socializing, traveling, exchanging, and gathering info and data. Gemini calls forth our most flexible, adaptable and stimulation-loving selves. ‘The Twins’ are the symbol for Gemini, just like the twin stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation Gemini. Gemini rules the most flexible and paired parts of the body – the arms and hands, the lungs, and the nervous system, also all forms of duality – the black and white, true and false, conscious and unconscious, anything to do with transit, traveling, commuting, and our relatives, brothers and sisters, cousins and even neighbors. Gemini’s mental mutable, air nature allows this sign to take duality and paradox and in a blink of an eye integrate, synthesize and transmute even opposites into a new perception, a new way of looking at things, new patterns, new options. Gemini is intrinsically blessed with the gift of communication in all forms – speaking, writing, translating, negotiating, teaching, connecting the dots in clever ways.
A Mercury ruler in an air sign accounts for the witty, perceptive mentation and reputation as messenger (unlike a Mercury-ruled earth sign like Virgo). Mercury alone, the fastest cycling planet and closest to the Sun, is considered neutral, androgynous. Mercury’s lineage is an evolution from Thoth, God of Knowledge in Egypt, to Hermes in Greek mythology. Mercury/Gemini, so adaptable, so versatile, so able to translate from one disparate scene to the next, so quick in action, so flexible and agile is not known for depth and when leaning in a weak direction can be ever so fast talking, ever so innocently deceitful and err towards gossip. Oops, I’m outta here….
Our Gemini New Moon holds some challenging masculine energies and some open doors as well. Masculine in that the majority of planets are in fire and air signs, Aires, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sag. We have a helpful Grand Trine in fire signs with Uranus, Saturn and North Node. We’re inspired and enthusiastic to change up our lives in some way that will allow us to grow and let in some new inspiration, new fuel for the fire. Help appears, and we are willing to do the work to bring better organization, more discipline and order into chaotic, unruly parts of our lives. We can intuitively feel there is a path of growth and movement in our field; we almost surprise ourselves with our willingness to let go (unless we’re strangling in resistance). With Saturn retrograde now, we may be considering our actions internally, feeling our psyches lurching or flowing towards change. The inner reality precedes the outer reality.
On the other hand, Mars is zipping through Gemini loving the speed and wide field he can cover. Mars (the gas) is hugely challenging Saturn (the brakes) just after New Moon until end of the month. This represents a downright irritating state of affairs and may tax your patience, and leave you feeling isolated and inadequate and hard to take decisive action. Better to not use that seething Mars energy over heating your brain in reaction to some offense for a blowout exchange, but instead use it to take stock of your situation, let your dissatisfaction with the way things are light a rocket under you and GSD (get things done)! Frustrations with the way things are can be a great motivator.
Mercury ruler itself is not well aspected, but it seems Uranus in Aries, the ‘higher octave’ of Mercury is faring so much better! Mercury is the logical mind, but Uranus takes the mind to the next level of intuition, released from traditions and preconceived notions. Here we have metaphysical wisdom, invention, genius and communication by telepathy or clairvoyance – now you’re talking! Uranus is in the second of three trines to Saturn (12-24-16, 5-19-17, and 11-11-17) a long trajectory of honing our abilities to open to our unique genius and time-and-space-transcending communication. Here the old (Saturn) and the new (Uranus) are working together hand in hand to facilitate our awakening and make changes in our old order and notions of what we can do and dream. This is probably one of the most important aspects of the year for getting opposing views to come to some agreement, and it’s not too early to look to the fall as the final pass with our goals in mind.
The Sun and Moon have a stressful and difficult relationship to Pluto (and Juno ruler of committed relationship). We can anticipate ongoing intensity and struggle and the emergence and disintegration of whatever keeps us out of our empowerment and connection to our rightful path. Powerful internal demons are being wrestled with and we’ve never been better equipped or more skillful in bringing these parts of ourselves to light. When the Sun and Moon together tweak Pluto, the collective unconscious is stimulated and acted out in the public eye for all to see, as well as personally with each one doing the work to move the whole closer to awakening. Vow to acknowledge your resistances, your secrecy, your hesitancies to appear vulnerable, and where you feel disempowered. Your relationships will act as a magic mirror reflecting you back to yourself. Own what you see and hear. The energy is subtle and yet palpable to those with alignment to the passion play of our collective drama.
Take the opportunity of the New Moon to reset your sights on the horizon where you want to find yourself in the future. Strong intention and vision is what will navigate us through the major transitions between now and 2020.
