Revealing my prejudice, I admit the full Scorpio Moon of feminine power is one of my favorites. Scorpio being of the water element and fixed in nature expresses its need for depth through transformation, intimacy and emotional truth. This leads to some challenging areas we tend to avoid like our sexuality, death and dying, emotional vulnerability, desire, and personal power, yet here is where mystery, power and shamanic relationship to the invisible world lies.
Transformation involves becoming aware of the inessential and ruthlessly (because that’s how Scorpio rolls) focusing on eliminating it to make way for the new. The ‘rising from the ashes’ and powerful Phoenix totem of Scorpio represents this life-changing process. A brave heart is required to want to shift the habitual, known and comfortable to live more consciously and in the truth, and scorpionic transformation invariably comes through lessons from our earthly experiences and emotional relationship with others.
Many are relieved that the exactitude of the Grand Cross is over, but it’s not like that. The close alignment of those four planets represented an initiatory portal where a grand number of people managed to tolerate the raising of the planetary frequency and rattling of the cosmic windows and come out on the other side. We were able to withstand looking at some of the darker aspects of our ego programming as well as reach to incredible heights of love, connection and synchronicity guided by Spirit. I did not labor the point at the time that two of the involved planets in the Cross, Pluto and Mars, were both retrograde (astrology is technical enough), but in hindsight, I see how clearly this configuration was pointing to the guidance that we need to look inside. Retrograde=look within. Just look around us to see the results of our projections outward of our thoughts, beliefs and feelings of domination, inequality, fear, powerlessness, unworthiness. The power of this time is to support the work of clearing our 1st and 2nd chakra emotional pathways of past experiences and move to forgiveness and neutrality for all the lessons it took to get us to our present state and to learn to turn up the love dial to the highest setting we can embrace. This portal was to initiate us to learn to create from love, trust and a true connection of our heart to Spirit. The work of the Grand Cross of 2014 has just begun!
Saturn is very present within a few degrees of the Scorpio Full Moon in this chart. It points to staying focused on the vision/changes you want to manifest, showing up to do the work (not just wishing or hoping things will change), daily practice of one step at a time to move toward your heart’s desires. Scorpio is always ready to show us where resistance and stubbornness is stopping the flow of energy through us. The fixed, power signs don’t welcome change. Note where judgment, a critical voice, possessiveness, rejection, manipulation, secrets, crisis and power struggles are showing up and see what you can bring to removing these log jams to your emotional well being. Some part of you may be crying out for more light and loving kindness.
Saturn proffers a substantial gift at the same time. Along with Saturn, Chiron and Jupiter are forming a Grand Trine in water signs! Oh Happy Day! We need that! Trines manifest through easy access and grace, and in the water signs, it’s the emotional, receptive, yin aspects of ourselves that are benefitted. We experienced this blessing last summer as well through Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter. Now with the aid of Chiron, our collective, past emotional woundings can dissolve and morph into the source of our gifts and strengths-a gut level understanding emerges and we gain a healing and holistic view of our lives. Our perspective expands and clarity clicks into place. We have a knowingness of how we want our lives to feel and move towards that greater fulfillment.
Venus is Aries, that wild darling, has a big part in this chart. She’s conjunct Uranus (exact on 5/16) making for some unexpected pleasure, maybe bringing unconventional people or experiences to us-could be exciting…. And on Full Moon she’s exactly square Mr. Intensity, Pluto, so we can just about count on any underlying relationship issues to surface passionately (augmented by the power of the Full Moon) clearing the air of festering resentments or withholds.
In fact, from May 11-18th, Venus will be in challenging aspect to all four of the planets of the Grand Cross triggering the energies we were working with recently. So the Venus-ruled areas of relationship, finances, desire, sociability, aesthetics, love, artistic expression may come to the forefront of your life and need your attention. Practice letting your head bow to your heart and open to the lessons of loving what is.
These are magnificent times! Change and shift are to be welcomed. Let these fixed, feminine power signs of Taurus/Scorpio help you see where you are emotionally entrenched and resistant and surrender to the gifting that is coming your way.
