Melchizedek’s Weekly Message ~ September 15 – 22, 2013

Confidence is a vital aspect of your life; it affects every part of your existence. Yet it is known that many dear souls are challenged each and every day to find and develop their confidence. People that lack confidence are easily detectable; they tend to be nervous, they may apologize too much, or they may fidget and fumble with their words. A confident person has the ability to speak clearly, they are able to admit when they don’t know the subject that is being discussed, they are also able to answer questions without fumbling with their words.

A person that is confident with themselves has the ability to inspire others by gaining the confidence and trust of others. Confidence is something that you build and nurture. It can take time to build this essential part of yourself, but it is worth the effort because the more confident you are, the more positive you become and this increases the flow of positive light energy to move in and around you.

It is quite easy dear ones to measure your own level of confidence. You can observe your body language while communicating with others, pay attention to your own attitude, the level of your voice, the words you choose, etc. You know you are being confident when you continue to do what you believe to be right regardless of the risk of being criticized or judged; whereas a dear soul with low self-confidence would direct their behaviour and actions based primarily on what other people think. Someone who exerts good self-confidence is willing to take risks and will go the distance in order to achieve more from life; they do not fear going into the unknown.
Many dear souls that express low self-confidence prefer to stay within their cozy comfort zone; they avoid taking risks in order to reduce the possibility of failing. We could continue longer with examples of dear souls demonstrating balanced levels of confidence compared to those with low self-confidence, but we know you understand the difference and the necessity of being confident and how your confidence affects every aspect of your life.

There are a couple things that contribute to your confidence; one is self-efficacy. You gain the idea of self-efficacy when you are able to see yourself and others similar to you honing certain skills and attaining certain goals that are essential to the skills you are honing. What this means dear ones, you build confidence by learning to work diligently in a certain area, mastering the essential skills that are required for that task while you are working, and then you know you will succeed.
Self-efficacy is knowing your own self, you don’t just sense it, you know it and the many dear souls that express this part of part of their confidence are those that have shown the ability to accept difficult situations and they determinedly move forward regardless of any setbacks to see the challenging situation through. The other aspect that goes into confidence is self-esteem. Your self-esteem is based on your ability to cope with what is going on in and around your life; determining that you do have a right to feel good and to be happy. You gain good self-esteem when you feel approval from the people closest to you and when your esteem is high it gives room for your confidence to grow as well. When you put the two together, self-efficacy and self-esteem you begin to build competence.

If you have detected with yourself that your confidence is a little off-kilter understand it can be strengthened but it will take longer than a few minutes. Rebuilding your confidence is never out of reach, all you need dear ones is to be willing to make the necessary changes and to focus with fierce determination that will help you carry through what is necessary to rebuild your confidence from firm accomplishments done by you.

When you are ready to take the step forward to re-strengthen your confidence, begin by looking at where you are now on your journey. What have you achieved thus far. Make a list to see what are at least 10 of the best things that you have accomplished. Think about what you consider to be your strengths and what your friends or family see as your strengths. When you think upon your strengths, look a little deeper dear ones and try to recognize any of the strengths being from situations that were frightening and how many of your strengths came from overcoming threats that were derived from negative thinking. It is good to reflect upon your strengths and to see just how far you have come.

As you continue to plan on rebuilding your confidence, think about what is important to you, where do you want your current path to lead you. Decide on a goal you wish to achieve. Create an action plan that will take you there that includes steps that can reach where you can look back and see how much you have learned and accomplished towards your planned goal. Create goals dear ones that push your strengths in order for you to see the opportunities that are before you, providing you with the control to diminish any threatening negative thought forms.

It is essential dear ones, while raising your confidence you also will be controlling the amount of negative thought forms that often prevent you from attaining certain goals. Counter all negative thought forms with love and compassion, remind yourself of the goal you are pushing forward to reach. You have done much already and you will achieve anything you put your heart and soul into.

When you are ready dear ones commit and dedicate yourself to the goal you have chosen to achieve. Doubts will rise to the surface of your mind, your Ego will try and detour you from the goal you want to attain. Some of the doubts that may come up are because of a fear of possible risks. Make sure dear ones you have some strong coping strategies in place for certain bumps along your journey because from experience, you know there will be challenges.

Remember what confidence is. It’s all about balance. There are extremities of confidence levels; there are many dear souls that express low self-confidence, then there are those dear souls that express over-confidence. We have already determined that low self-confident people don’t like to take risks, even if the risk could bring something better into their life. And the dear souls that are described as over-confident may risk too much; they are over stretched and will eventually fall after reaching a boiling point. What is needed dear ones is finding a happy medium. Finding the right amount of confidence and maintaining this strength. Understand dear ones when you have balanced confidence you will be able to take educated risks, you will be able to stretch yourself into the unknown and onto others within perimeters that you set that don’t move you beyond your current abilities until you are ready.

On your journey to rebuild your confidence it is important dear ones to look at the goal you have chosen to accomplish. Determine the skills that you will need to attain your goal. Then figure out how you can reach the skills needed with confidence and to learn them well. We don’t want you to accept a plan that is not well thought. We encourage you to discover a way, a plan that is solid, that is filled with solutions for problems that may arise and pit stops along the way that help to reenergize you should you become weary and frustrated.

Building on your confidence requires only simple strategies and action plans, the more elaborate you create your steps to achieve your planned goal, the more complex it can become and can easily lead into longer periods of negative self-talk and thinking. Keep your plans simple until you become comfortable going through each step, facing the challenges that come with each interval until you reach your desired goal. Don’t rush this moment of improving yourself. This is a great time learning who you are and helping to develop firmer skills that brings unlimited benefits to your whole self. Take your time, learn what is necessary and remain focused and see each step through. You will reach your destination, it’s only a matter of time and time is something we all have.

As you reach certain interval target points along your journey that will bring you closer to the goal you have set out to achieve, give yourself a pat on the back, congratulate yourself for reaching each point and each step. Each time you demonstrate to yourself compassion, love and respect for what you have accomplished so far of your planned goal, you help to accelerate towards the finish line – a successful outcome that you completed from each step you took.

Feel the joy and satisfaction coursing through your body when you reach your planned goal. Your confidence goes on a rise and it feels good. This good feeling that you have will help encourage you to continue working on your confidence through the goals you make for yourself to reach. And you will add more to your goals as you become comfortable with what is required, but you will also succeed because you have before and you saw for yourself just how capable you truly are. Allow the skills you have now develop into new skills for you to learn and hone. There is nothing you cannot accomplish if you truly want to and apply the hard work that will bring you there.

Continue to move forward dear ones, don’t fear the unknown, and take it one brave step at a time. Learn to stretch yourself to others, but not to the point that you feel overwhelmed. Listen to your body, it will give you signs and signals that you have gone far enough. Trust in yourself and discover your confidence will grow quickly from the wonderful efforts you have applied. You have inside you all you need to be successful at anything. Believe in yourself dear ones and embrace all the wonderful things you can already do and all the wonderful things you have yet to accomplish.
